A man, a mic, and a piano
The band’s tour van exits off I10, then pulls in the back alley of a hole-in-the-wall music bar. There we meet David wearing sunglasses and an old t-shirt. He tells the story behind the song with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. We needed a piano so we brought our “studio” to the bar, Blue Tavern. This is take three.
I’m Not Going Anywhere is a simple and personal song dealing with the loss of friends and giving death the what-for. After filming, the song was featured on Showtime’s Billions and the video successfully reached a wide new audience for David Ramirez.
